Lead Electrical Engineer – Contract (Outside IR35) Location : Leatherhead (Hybrid – 4 days in office per week) Contract Length : Ongoing IR35 Status : Outside IR35 Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for decarbonisation and large-scale power systems? We’re recruiting on behalf of a global engineering consultancy, looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their Green Hydrogen & Ammonia project delivery team, supporting complex projects powered by both renewable and conventional energy sources. This role is focused on developing electrical power distribution systems for innovative energy projects, including: Electrolyser systems Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Synchronous condensers (Syncons) High-voltage power demand infrastructure (100MW range) You’ll be supporting Concept and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phases, guiding multi-disciplinary teams across multiple global office locations. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience leading electrical engineering on Concept / FEED phases for power systems (preferably 100MW) Strong background in projects involving electrolysers, BESS, or other large-scale renewable/conventional generation components Experience managing or mentoring teams of electrical engineers, especially in multi-office delivery models Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and lead technical decision-making
