Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Instrumentation Location: Port Nigg- Inverness- Scotland Reports To: Mechanical Package Manager Job Summary: Europlan is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer – Instrumentation to join our dynamic team in Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of Mechanical systems for a variety of engineering projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects across multiple sectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical systems, layouts, and instrumentation in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Perform mechanical calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection for instrumentation systems. Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and other relevant design software. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, and civil engineers, to ensure seamless project integration. Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and support project implementation. Ensure compliance with local and international mechanical and instrumentation regulations, safety standards, and best practices. Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases of projects. Assist in project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessment. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance design efficiency and innovation. Job Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical and instrumentation design within a consulting, industrial, or engineering environment. Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools. Strong understanding of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and colleagues. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and energy-efficient mechanical systems design is an advantage.
