Job Description
Artemis Human Capital are supporting our client, a well respected leading FMCG firm, for the recruitment of a Production Manager. This is a newly created role reporting into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products produced at the Belfast site meets the daily production schedule, adhere to quality standards, and are manufactured safely. Role Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, hygiene, contamination, and company policies and procedures by self and team. Lead a proactive safety culture within the production team. Ensure the mill is audit-ready and represent the site during audits and visits. Production & Operations Management Oversee staffing and supervision across key areas (blending, pressing, blends plant, flaking plant, auto-packing) to meet safety, quality, and production targets. Optimise production planning to improve dispatch performance and mill efficiency. Coordinate closely with Logistics, Nutrition, and Customer Service to meet scheduling and customer requirements, including liaising with hauliers. Communication & Collaboration Maintain clear communication with employees, clients, hauliers, and during shift handovers. Work efficiently with Engineering on maintenance priorities and with Process Engineering on performance optimisation. Engage with key customers, hauliers, and merchants as needed. Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure quality standards, testing, and documentation are maintained. Lead trials, improvement projects, and support employee participation in lean initiatives. Participate in SOP development and reviews, ensuring employee compliance with SOPs. People Management & Development Identify training needs and support staff development. Ensure all staff are trained, validated, and compliant with SOPs. General Duties Complete all documentation accurately and perform additional tasks as required. Criteria Possess a degree/HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role in FMCG industry Experience of working within a mature H&S management system (eg: ISO 45001) Candidates will have experience of working in a total quality / quality assured / lean environment Competent in the use of standard MS Office packages e.g. Word, Excel & SCADA systems This role will require a hands-on approach Able to plan, work to deadlines and under pressure Able to demonstrate good time management Capable of solving problems and working on own initiative and with others in fast moving industry Contact Nicky Strutt for more information
