Electrical Engineer PLC

Senior Electrical Engineer (PLC Design Expertise) – Glasgow (Hybrid) Perm, £55,000 - £65,000 Responsibilities: Contribute to new system and product designs, addressing technical queries for existing products. Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and production for optimal technical solutions. Generate part numbers, BOMs, and source components. Produce engineering documentation (specifications, proposals, testing procedures, reports). Ensure timely delivery of solutions within budget, meeting engineering and company standards. Serve as technical approver for relevant documentation. Lead and mentor a team, ensuring performance, development, and compliance. Implement competence framework, training, and performance reviews. Requirements: Strong electrical and electronics design skills. Proficient in design calculations and CAD tools. Experience with PLC-based control systems, industrial automation (e.g., Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet). Knowledge of IEC 61508 for critical applications. Experience in HV/LV system design, power distribution, and battery systems (up to 150 kWh). Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience. Familiar with marine/defence standards (e.g., LR, DNV, DEFSTAN).
