Location: St Neots, PE19 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per year Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift About Us At Binney & Sims Design , we are a growing, passionate team specialising in residential and commercial architectural projects. The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist to join our expanding team. The primary focus of this role is the production of detailed building regulation drawings and specifications . You will also support our design team with measured surveys, initial architectural design work, and planning applications. This is a full-time position offered initially on a 5-month fixed-term contract , with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate building regulation drawings and detailed technical specifications to current UK standards. Prepare and develop architectural design drawings , plans, and associated supporting documents for planning applications. Conduct measured site surveys and assist with initial concept design work. Liaise with clients to discuss project requirements and present design solutions. Coordinate administrative responsibilities related to your projects, ensuring smooth project delivery. Actively participate in team meetings, design reviews, and project planning sessions. Required Experience and Skills Minimum 2 year’s proven experience producing building regulation drawings . Strong working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations . Proficient in AutoCAD LT (essential). Solid understanding of residential construction methods and detailing. Experience and understanding of the UK planning system is highly desirable (full training will be provided if required). Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused attitude.
