Job Description
The Fleet Data Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing data analyses and data collection strategies to optimize the statistical efficiency and quality of the Fleet Department. Utilizing Power BI and other systems, analysts will transform data into comprehensible, goal oriented reports, trends and forecasts, driving continuous innovation and growth within the department. What you’ll do: Key Performance Areas: Data Analysis and Reporting: Establish databases where to source data, define data collection methods and systems, and implement data analytics strategies to optimise statistical efficiency and quality across fleet operations (30%). Power BI Development: Utilize Power BI to develop and manage interactive dashboards and reports that accurately reflect the performance metrics of the fleet operations, facilitating real-time data-driven decisions (30%). Project Management: Manage and execute assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with the Fleet Department's strategic objectives (15%). Stakeholder Engagement: Actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support and address data analysis needs, ensuring effective communication and alignment on objectives (15%). Training and Support: Lead and support training initiatives for team members using data analytics tools and Power BI, enhancing departmental capabilities and data literacy (10%). Key Responsibilities: Data Consolidation and Management: Consolidate essential data sets: Sales, Stock, Automark, Fleet Customers, Service, Parts, Special Discount Data, e-One, Dealer Data and Fleet Budget Data to streamline and ensure extraction for reporting use. Ensure data collection processes that support the optimisation of statistical efficiency and quality. Translate business requirements into optimal reporting solutions, determining the best methods and tools for effective data presentation and analysis. Power BI Development and Reporting: Utilise Power BI to create and manage interactive dashboards that integrate data from various segments like sales, stock levels, and service metrics, facilitating comprehensive visualisation and easy access to real-time data. Interpret data and analyse results to determine trends and provide ongoing, actionable reports that aid strategic decision-making. Analytics-Driven Strategy Formation: Work closely with Fleet management to prioritise business and information needs and ensure data analytics align with strategic objectives. Apply insights from data to forecast future trends in fleet sales, enabling decision-making that informs fleet management strategies and actions. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek and define new process improvement opportunities by analysing data trends and analytics practices. Training and Empowerment: Lead initiatives to train department members on utilising Power BI and other data tools, ensuring all team members can effectively navigate and utilize reports and dashboards for their respective roles. Your expertise: Requirements of the Job: Educational Qualification:  Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information management, Statistics, or a related field and demonstrate a strong foundational knowledge of data handling and analysis. Experience: Required proven experience as a data analyst or business data analyst with a focus on managing large data sets and generating comprehensive reports. Familiarity and proficiency with Power BI and other analytics tools are essential. Skills:  Applicants should possess deep knowledge and hands-on experience with databases and statistical analysis tools. Skills should include the ability to effectively utilise statistical software packages for detailed data analysis and Competencies of the Job: Analytical Skills:  Demonstrates the capability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, crucial for effective fleet sales forecasting. Technical Skills:  Proficient in writing SQL queries, report writing, and presenting Possesses advanced skills in Power BI and other analytics tools to support complex data analysis and visualisation tasks. Communication Skills:  Exhibits strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying insights from complex data sets in an understandable format to stakeholders at all levels. Problem-Solving Skills: Able to swiftly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability in fleet sales forecasting and other analytical tasks.
