Mechanical Design Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities Design and draft mechanical structures and components for recycling process plants. Collaborate with Project Engineering to ensure designs meet quality and project specifications. Prepare construction drawings including layout and detail schematics. Perform and contribute to strength calculations in line with mechanical requirements. Check and approve technical drawings. Maintain clear documentation and drawing records for projects. Stay up to date with industry trends and engineering standards. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance departmental quality and efficiency. Use design software for plotting and modelling (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CadWorx, Inventor, etc.). Experience and Qualifications Completed tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g. BTech, BEng, or equivalent MBO/HBO level). Experience in industrial plant design, piping, and structural drafting. Proficient in MS Office and mechanical design software (AutoCAD essential; Plant 3D, CadWorx, Inventor advantageous). Strong understanding of materials and their applications in mechanical environments. Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communicator with a proactive and problem-solving mindset. Prior experience in structural and process plant environments is highly beneficial. English language proficiency is essential.
