Construction Materials Technician

Construction Materials Technician Location: Phoenix, AZ A leading engineering and materials testing firm is hiring a Construction Materials Technician to support roadway, civil, and structural projects in the Phoenix area. This is a field-based role with hands-on testing and inspection responsibilities. What You’ll Do: Perform testing on soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, and steel Monitor construction for compliance with plans/specs Prepare clear, accurate technical reports Work from daily dispatch schedules; shifts vary (early mornings common) Occasionally travel to other AZ offices (Tucson, Flagstaff) Must-Haves: ATTI and ACI certifications Valid driver’s license & clean driving record 1 year of related experience Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all conditions Must pass drug test (including marijuana), background check, and physical Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills Nice-to-Haves: Nuclear Density Gauge certification Familiarity with roadway/civil construction and QA/QC practices Experience reading and interpreting construction plans Perks: Health insurance, 401(k), PTO Paid certifications with raises upon completion Relocation available for standout candidates This is a great opportunity to grow your skills and work on impactful projects across Arizona.
