The Role: The Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) is a comprehensive three-year rotational program designed to cultivate the next generation of passionate leaders in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Driven by excellence, the program aligns with Xylem’s mission to solve the world’s toughest water challenges. The program aims to accelerate the professional development of recent university graduates eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. Participants will be challenged technically, exposed to significant leadership opportunities, training, and development within critical business assignments. Program Structure: Participants will engage in three one-year rotational assignments across various functions within Operations and Procurement-Supply Chain. Each rotation provides broad exposure to different aspects of the business, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the field. Rotations may include Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing, Materials Management, Front Line Supervision, Purchasing and Supplier Management, Production Planning and Control, Logistics, and Distribution. Core Responsibilities: Execute rotational assignments by planning and performing tasks within each rotation. Achieve performance goals by completing objectives on schedule, within budget, and with high quality, while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness. Show improvement in operational metrics during recurrent management meetings. Participate in technical and leadership training programs, including relevant certifications. Engage in performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring sessions to support professional growth. Contribute to Watermark initiatives through volunteer activities and community engagement programs. First Rotation, CI Department: Core responsibilities include: Participate actively in the Making Material Flow team within the Lean Transformation project, focusing on supermarket construction, material replenishment, and Kanban management. Support and coordinate the implementation of the Xylem Production System to enhance operational excellence. Involve in the Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) process, facilitating monitoring and continuous improvement across operational areas. Train and coach to obtain Lean Practitioner Bronze Level certification, developing skills in Lean methodologies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering; graduated no more than 12 months prior to hiring . Prior internship in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, data-driven decision-making focus. People-oriented, effective team worker, with leadership potential and collaborative mindset. Change and conflict management skills, flexibility, proactivity, positive attitude. Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken. Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
