Project Accountant

Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals Track and report on project costs, revenues, and variances Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports and forecasts Manage cash flow for assigned projects, including billing schedules and payment tracking Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to review financial progress Assist in contract reviews and support financial aspects of claims and variations Handle foreign exchange considerations for international transactions Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and project agreements Support internal and external audits related to project accounts Contribute to process improvements in project accounting and reporting practices Skills & Experience: Minimum of 58 years experience in a project accounting role within construction, manufacturing, mining, or renewable energy industries Quantity Surveying experience may also be considered Strong background in contract accounting, with proven ability to manage and calculate claims and variations Hands-on experience managing project cash flow and large-scale project budgets Proficiency in handling foreign currency transactions and working with exchange rates Exposure to NEC3 or FIDIC contract frameworks is an advantage Skilled in financial reporting related to project performance, timelines, and profitability Comfortable working on projects of significant value (R1B), with a strong attention to financial details and timelines. Must be able to complete and manage timesheets for project tracking and cost allocation Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with both finance and operational teams Qualification: CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Preferred SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) Preferred Candidates with a Quantity Surveying qualification and strong financial acumen will also be considered Registration with relevant professional bodies will be an advantage Ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) participation is encouraged Contact Refiloe Mofokeng on
