Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel CCI is searching for a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Telemetry/LTACH contract assignment in Louisville, KY. (Must have trach/vent experience, knowledge of central lines & wound care). $2025 - $2125 per week, Net take home. Paid Weekly. First Day Health/Dental/Vision Benefits through UHC. 8-week contract Night shift (7p-7a) Position Summary: The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care. Responsibilities Include: Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse Educates patients on surgical procedures Records patients’ medical information and vital signs Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and record electronic displays Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol Participates in discharge planning Because patients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than (100) pounds.
