Accounting Clerk

Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a dedicated team within the non-profit sector. This is a long-term contract position based in New York, New York, where you will play a key role in processing financial contributions and maintaining accurate donor records. Responsibilities: • Process various types of financial contributions, including pledges, checks, wires, and credit card donations, on a daily basis. • Maintain and update donor records in Raiser’s Edge, including creating new accounts and revising existing information. • Accurately enter all donations into the Raiser’s Edge database. • Prepare and reconcile daily reports related to recurring gifts and online donations. • Collaborate with the Communications Department to ensure proper allocation of web-based and mailed donations. • Assist the Payroll Administrator with processing employee contributions for payroll deductions. • Adjust and update donation records in Raiser’s Edge as needed, and provide supporting documentation to the Finance Department for accurate adjustments in NetSuite. • Supply backup documents for endowment and restricted fund gifts to the Controller. • Partner with Development staff to address donor inquiries, including tax receipt records and donor account details, through online customer service channels.• Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar donor management software. • Hands-on experience in gift processing and financial recordkeeping. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Familiarity with non-profit financial practices and donor relations is a plus.
