Travel Cath Lab Tech - $2,865 to $2,925 per week in Lafayette, IN

Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and operation of equipment during cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiology procedures. Set up and maintain the sterile field in the Cath Lab, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and medications are available and ready. Position patients appropriately for various diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring optimal imaging results. Operate fluoroscopy equipment, image intensifiers, and other specialized tools to aid in the visualization of cardiac vessels, coronary arteries, and other heart structures. Monitor patients throughout the procedure, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Provide technical assistance to cardiologists during diagnostic procedures (e.g., angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, etc.) and other interventions in the Cath Lab. Assist in the preparation of contrast agents and other materials used during procedures. Ensure proper patient identification, verification of procedure, and review of medical history prior to initiating procedures. Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging documentation, procedural details, and any observations relevant to the procedure. Follow radiation safety protocols, ensuring minimal exposure to both patients and staff by using appropriate shielding and equipment. Sterilize and maintain Cath Lab equipment, ensuring it is functional, safe, and ready for use at all times. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and ensure the efficient flow of procedures in the Cath Lab. Participate in quality improvement activities, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards. Stay updated with advancements in cardiology and Cath Lab technologies, attending relevant training and continuing education opportunities.
