Travel Surg Tech - $2,425 to $2,500 per week in Zanesville, OH

Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room by ensuring that all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile, organized, and ready for use. Assist with patient positioning, ensuring comfort and safety prior to and during surgery. Prepare and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures, maintaining a sterile field. Maintain a sterile environment during surgery by following infection control protocols and sterile techniques. Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including cautery units, suction devices, and sterilizers. Monitor the surgical environment to ensure all necessary supplies and instruments are available and easily accessible. Assist in draping the patient and setting up surgical instruments based on the type of procedure being performed. Handle surgical specimens and ensure they are properly labeled, stored, and sent for pathology as needed. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, including passing instruments, sponges, and sutures in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and needles to prevent retained foreign bodies during surgery. Work closely with the surgical team to maintain the flow of the procedure and provide efficient assistance throughout. Assist with patient preparation, including prepping the surgical site and performing other pre-operative tasks as directed by the surgical team. Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure, assisting with positioning, suctioning, and other tasks as needed. Ensure the operating room is cleaned and restocked after the surgery is completed, ready for the next procedure. Adhere to strict protocols for infection prevention, including sterilization and proper disposal of waste. Stay informed about new surgical technologies, techniques, and equipment, and participate in ongoing education and training. .
