Director - Information System & Technology

Job Description : The Director, Information Systems and Technology, will be a key member of the Leadership Team responsible for leading all information technology activities, including strengthening the current systems and processes, along with driving the future direction of IT as a business driver for Arete. The Director, Information Systems and Technology, will establish the IT governance model to prioritize the advancement of IT systems capabilities focused on strategic alignment, business value, risk, investment needs, and ROI targets. This will encompass managing the global development and operations of new IT platforms and products to drive revenue growth, implementation of the data governance strategy to empower data analytic capabilities to transform and improve operating models while balancing the need to develop mature internal IT capabilities, processes, and people to improve Arete's operational performance and align with legal, regulatory and security requirements. Key Responsibilities : - Develop and articulate a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business goals and objectives. Identify emerging technologies and trends, evaluate their potential impact, and recommend strategic investments to maintain a competitive edge. - Establish and maintain robust IT governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance, security, and efficient operations across all IT functions. - Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the organization's IT infrastructure, including network, servers, storage, cloud services, and end-user computing. Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and security of all IT systems and services. - Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications, ensuring they meet business requirements, are scalable, and are integrated effectively. Oversee application lifecycle management and vendor relationships. - Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy and program to protect the organization's data assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. - Oversee security audits, risk assessments, and incident response planning. - Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing return on investment in technology initiatives. Monitor IT expenditures and identify opportunities for optimization. - Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Define team structures, roles, and responsibilities, and provide opportunities for professional development and growth. - Manage relationships with key technology vendors, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring value for money. - Provide strategic oversight and guidance to IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Establish and maintain project management methodologies and standards. - Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption 1 to business operations in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Regularly test and update these plans. - Effectively communicate the IT strategy, initiatives, and performance to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and the broader organization. Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across departments. - Drive the exploration and adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to improve business processes, enhance customer experience, and create competitive advantages. - Lead and contribute to digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology to modernize business processes, improve agility, and drive new business models. - Define and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) for IT services, ensuring that the IT department meets the needs and expectations of the : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly preferred. - 15-20 years of progressive leadership experience in Information Systems and Technology roles, with increasing levels of responsibility. - Proven track record of developing and executing successful IT strategies aligned with business objectives. - Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, application development, information security, and IT operations. - Extensive experience in managing large-scale IT projects and leading cross-functional teams. - Strong knowledge of various technology platforms, including cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise applications, networking, and security systems. - Demonstrated experience in developing and managing IT budgets and financial resources effectively. - Excellent leadership, communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. - Ability to think strategically and translate complex technical concepts into business terms. - Experience in managing and negotiating with technology vendors. - Knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2). - Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives and leveraging emerging technologies.
