Saftey Officer Area; Bloemfontein Salary; R12 000 - R15 000 Description Develops, implements, and evaluates risk management policies and programs, trains employees in occupational health and safety procedures, monitors and audits the workplace, and records and investigates incidents to ensure safe and healthy working conditions. Minimum Requirements Key Responsibilities (KPI Key Performance Indicators) General Functions: 1. Supervisory Responsibilities: 1.1. Supervise the team to develop and maintain positive working relationships and reach objectives. 1.2. Assist with the development of the performance of staff to drive employee productivity. 2. Skills Development: Ensure the self-development according to business and departmental needs. 2.1 3. Health and Safety Standards: 3.1. You are accountable for maintaining a clean, uncluttered, and hazardous-free work area and emergency exits are not obstructed. 3.2. Ensure personal hygiene standards are maintained and take reasonable care for your health and safety and the health and safety of your subordinates. 3.3. Ensure staff participate and comply with OHS activities and procedures and report any unsafe actions and conditions to OHS Department. 4. Quality Food Safety Standards: 4.1. Ensure compliance of policies and procedures are followed by employees within the department. 4.2. Ensure cleaning programs are maintained to ensure suitability and effectiveness. 5. Brand Management: 5.1 Project the desired brand image to the public, customers, and other organizational constituents. 6. General: 6.1. Performing any other task not specified herein which, from time to time, may be assigned by the manager. 6.2. Work closely with other staff within own department and support colleagues as and when needed/required. 6.3. Carry out the company's vision and mission statement by practicing its core values in your day-to-day work life, contributing to the organization's future position and its goals and objectives. 7. Reporting and Document Management: 7.1. Ensure all relevant health and safety reports are compiled, up to date and submitted to management. 8. Legal and Safety Compliance: 8.1. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to occupational health and safety at work. 8.2. Ensure that all employees receive the proper health and safety training. 8.3. Ensure all contractors are appointed as per OHS Act 85 of 1993. 8.4. Investigate and document accidents and incidents to find causes and take preventative measures for future incidents. 8.5. Compile, maintain and implement all departmental emergency evacuation plans. 8.6. Sharing information, suggestions, and observations to create consistency in safety standards throughout the production team and the entire company. Skills and Knowledge · MS Outlook · MS Excel · MS Word · SharePoint · Kairos · C-Works · Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Auditing and Risk Assessments · Knowledge and understanding of Emergency Response Planning · Knowledge and understanding of Incident Management · Knowledge and Understanding of the following regulations: ISO 22000 and OHS Qualifications Required · National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4. · SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate. · Registered accident and incident investigator. · 2 Years supervisory experience. · 4 Years post qualification experience as a Safety Officer. · National Diploma: Safety Management will be advantageous.
