External Sales Representative Profile 1. Position: (Brief description) A commercially savvy technical salesperson, familiar with selling into the construction sector (or a similar technical environment), who is able to develop strategies on how to grow their sales; customer base; and channels to market in an effective and sustainable way. Key deliverables : Service the customer base effectively and build strong relationships Prospect for new customers Good product knowledge Effective marketing of new and existing products Effective lead management and conversion rate of leads Familiarity with the market and market trends Proper administration of CRM - Sales Force Adherence to sales policies and procedures Timeous and effective response to customer complaints Contribution to the team effort 2. Skills and qualifications required: Sales and Marketing Degree / Diploma Professional communication and listening skills Technical sales skills / overcoming objections Dealing with different personalities Time and Territory Management Computer literate MS Office, CRM 3. Qualities of the person and track record: 5-years experience Stable track record Demonstrable experience of growing sales Involvement in the technical sales environment References = energetic, tenacious, ethical, effective, good relationships Confident, articulate and presentable Honest and of high integrity 4. Past experience required: Involvement in technical sales (construction industry preferable) Experience in growing a customer / product base Selling based on product differentiation (not price) Dealing with difficult clients Tracking projects Dealing with SANS standards Working within a team
