Section Engineer

Carmichael UK are currently recruiting a Section Engineer – Roadworks to work on the HS2 project in Birmingham As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a section of works including bridges, highways, and structural elements, overseeing a team of engineers and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of the project scope. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily site activities and allocate tasks to Site Engineers. Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans and maintain Quality Check Sheets. Approve and enforce Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve site clashes and maintain smooth project flow. Support budget production and cost recovery mechanisms. Ensure accurate setting out and as-built drawing markups. Continuously assess resource needs and review work procedures for efficiency. Experience & Requirements: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related subject. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Section Engineer. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Familiar with Permit to Work systems. Strong environmental and health & safety awareness
