Contract Specialist

Leading global bio science company is looking to hire an additional Contracts Specialist to join their highly successful in-house team. Hybrid-working in Scotland is an option along with remote-working arrangements. Role Overview: As a Contracts Specialist, you will focus on supporting commercial contracting activities, including conducting contract reviews, drafting contracts and taking part in negotiations. You may also be required to provide ad-hoc advice on related legal matters. Role Profile: Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements. Support and, where appropriate, lead negotiations with third parties on these agreements. Take an active role in contract template standardisation, process improvement and contract automation strategy by participating in and/or leading certain relevant projects. Interpretation of agreements in effect or in development. Educate and train employees on their role in contract negotiations and their obligations under the terms of various contracts and under applicable legal requirements. Work with other members of the Global Legal team including Division Counsel as needed. Candidate Requirements: Holds a law degree in a UK jurisdiction or has at last three years’ experience in a contracts-focussed role. A good working knowledge of contract law. Relevant experience in contract negotiation/drafting. Strong commercial awareness and business sense, with ability to navigate the various issues surrounding contracts, technology and corporate structure. Able to fully engage with and influence business partners. Fluency in English essential. Able to deal effectively and efficiently with a high-volume workload. On Offer : Competitive salary.
