Job Title: Surgical Services Technician Job Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (06:45 - 15:15) Guaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience required License: No license required for this role Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Must be in the state 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting - Fire Safety skills/knowledge Job Description: - Perform OR Tech duties in Day Surgery with shift from 06:45 to 15:15. - No weekend work is required. - On-call required for late stays 1-2 times per week to finish day cases. - Float within scope to meet facility needs, including floating to the Main OR if case volumes are low. - Open to block schedule accommodations upon discussion with manager. - Must have required skills for ENT cases: Endoscopic sinus procedures, Direct Laryngoscopy, Mastoidectomy/Tympanoplasty/Stapedectomy, Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy. - General Surgery skills: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical. - Gynecology Case skills: Bilateral tubal ligation, Dilation & Curettage. - Orthopedics skills: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Arthroscopy, Arthrotomy, Carpal tunnel release, Total knee replacement. - Plastic Surgery skills: Abdominoplasty, Breast augmentation, Fat Grafting, Mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction. - Podiatry skills: Ankle fusion, Bunionectomy, Hallux valgus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, Metatarsal surgery. - Urology skills: Circumcision, Cystoscopy, Ureteroscopy. - Equipment/Supplies experience: Drills, Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords. - Professional knowledge and skills: Aseptic Technique, Isolation Precautions, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, Sharps Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure. Hospital information: - Acute Care Hospital - Level I trauma center. - Magnet facility. - Total Staffed Beds: 562 beds. - Scrub Color: Provided. - Charting: Cerner. - COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required. - Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only. Other Requirements: - Commitment to completing the full assignment with no attendance/behavior issues. - Work 2 out of 3 major holidays. - Compliance with fingerprinting and other onboarding processes 3 business days before start. - Complete orientation and training: 16 hours non-billable. - Floating is required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
