Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT Must-Have: Cerner experience required Job Description: - Blocked schedule of 6 on/6 off is preferred. - Average daily census of 130 in a 180-bed facility. - First-timers accepted. - Will work every other or every third weekend depending on department needs. - On-call required from December to April. - Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs. - Locals accepted with no radius restrictions. - Limited RTO, ideally no more than 5 days. - Client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without compensation for canceled hours beyond this limit. - Patient care includes neonatal through geriatric age groups with a wide range of diagnoses. - Duties include assisting with bronchoscopies, routine respiratory care, and emergency response in the Emergency Department for severe respiratory distress. - Work with Level II Nursery, utilizing HFNC, bubble CPAP, and invasive mechanical ventilation. - Utilize special equipment including Drager V500 Ventilators, EV 300 Bipaps, V60 Bipaps, ResMed Tabletop PAP Devices, and others. - Required work setting experience in adult critical care, ED, pediatrics is necessary. - Proficient in airway management devices, suctioning skills, and experience with medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Flovent. - Knowledge of oxygen therapy skills and ventilator management is required. - Required neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures experience. - Preferred experience in NICU, PICU, and transports. - Prior community hospital experience and Level I/II trauma experience preferred. - Must adhere to the flu vaccine requirement unless exempt for medical or religious reasons. - Compliance with all necessary documentation and procedures is crucial for the duration of the contract.
