Main Purpose of the Role Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job. We currently have the following opportunity: Teacher of Additional Support Needs - PKC12626 £33,594 - £50,589 Fairview School, Perth Fairview School is located on the Perth Academy/Viewlands Primary School campus and is the Authority’s school for children and young people with severe and complex additional support needs aged 3-18. We seek an enthusiastic teacher with experience of supporting children with complex additional support needs to work at this outstanding school. We would encourage visits to the school or are happy to answer any questions. The role would involve leading a class team in either the primary or secondary department of the school (depending on skill set). Class teams generally consist of the teacher supported by 3 pupil support assistants and would work with approximately 6 pupils per class. Class teachers will be responsible for the planning, assessing and the delivery of motivational and engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of our pupils many of whom are working at a pre-early level of the curriculum. This post will be starting in August 2025 and interviews will take place approximately one week after the advert closes. Skills & Experience Required We are looking for someone who can embed our values of Fair, Ambition, Inspirating and Respect towards our pupils, families and partners. Excellent communication skills are vital as you will be working with many people to best support our pupils. Organisation and an ability to manage your own wellbeing would be important to best support yourself, your staff team and the pupils. Team working is key. We believe strongly in the low arousal approach so being able to adhere to these principles would be vital. A GTCS recognised teaching qualification is essential.
