Pay Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred License: Current RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General MedSurg/Telemetry skillset - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Trach care - PIV starts - Chest tube management - NGT placement - Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.) - PCA pump management - Medication management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF Description: This is a MedSurg/Telemetry nursing position. The facility has 457 licensed beds. It is a teaching hospital with a trauma level III designation. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center of Excellence. The unit has 23 beds and an average daily census of 21 patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5. CNA support ratios are 1:7 during days and 1:10 during nights. The department has supervisory and Charge RN support. Resource Team services are available 24/7, not dedicated to this unit specifically. Hospitalist services are also available 24/7 but are not unit-specific. Phlebotomy services are provided by a combined effort of RNs and the IV team. The department uses EPIC for electronic medical records. IV pumps used include Alaris, and medication dispensing is managed through Omnicell. Traveling nurses may be required to float within region and scope of practice to support other facilities as needed. Orientation consists of departmental training for two days. Weekend rotation includes every other weekend, and holiday expectations require travelers to work 75% of holidays. Time off requests may be approved up to six days, excluding holidays.
