Project Development Manager, Italy

As a Project Development Manager at Queequeg Renewables , you will lead the development of wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in Italy. While this role focuses on the Italian market, a significant part of the Italian team is based in our London office , and we are open to candidates working from either London or Milan . Regardless of location, close collaboration with Italian stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and local partners will be essential. Responsibilities Lead deal structuring and commercial negotiations with partners and other key market players for the acquisition of pipelines or establishment of JVs and other possible partnerships. Properly assess the commercial & contractual terms of each opportunity ensuring its economic viability. Also evaluating & understanding both the business and the financial model. Ensure projects reach ready to build status by managing the relationship with the relevant stakeholders such as JV partners, authorities, landowners, grid operators, off-takers, advisors, etc. Link and work with local authorities, utility companies, and private entities as well as with financial institutions, funds, potential investors, and buyers implementing the strategic partnerships for the country. Coordinate the tasks and inputs of the Engineering team as well as the supporting functions such as Legal, Tax, and Finance team – and eventually external advisors – during the development phase as well as during the acquisition and sale phase. Perform and implement the Financial and Business Memorandums (IC Memo) and manage all the required internal approval processes providing Management Information and ensuring the right level of control during deployment of the opportunities across the various stages (origination, development, construction and sale). Keep himself/herself timely and fully informed on any market development and industry news/events in order to quickly identify business opportunities. Manage all aspects of wind, BESS, and solar PV project development from feasibility studies to final permitting. Coordinate project teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Conduct feasibility studies for project acquisitions. Help identify and secure new development opportunities. Liaise and cooperate with the engineering team. Skills Strong project management. Attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with in a team and support team members. English proficiency written and oral. Experience/Knowledge Strong understanding of the Italian regulatory framework related to the energy sector, specifically the development and construction of PV and Wind Plants, including environmental and licensing requirements.
