We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commissioning Engineer Manager to lead and support our commissioning team across various client sites. In this role, you will oversee project execution, provide hands-on technical support, and ensure smooth commissioning processes in collaboration with both customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a background in mechatronics or related fields and is willing to travel up to 50% of the time within the USA. Key responsibilities include managing commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, supporting customer needs on-site, and driving team performance. Lead efforts to expand team commissioning expertise towards a life-cycle engineering perspective; including, but not limited to design, drawings, order entry, configuration, visualization, and testing. Ability to partner with remote team members to track progress, success, and personal and project performance gaps. Ability to identify, align and manage skills and development target goals. Ensure compliance with local and supported authorities for visa management. Maintain a schedule for individual contributors for the direct team, while coordinating with a large team to ensure the level-loading of team members. Managing scope, budget, and schedules per SoW request. Build cross-functional partnerships with regional managers to maintain consistency and standards. Project support and initiative to push and support high-priority demands; including technical support and training as needed. Understand the scope of technical responsibility to support team growth and focus. Maintain team tools, including but not limited to, laptops, PPE, etc. Project Delivery: Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of team status. Assigns the appropriate technical resources to projects. Ensuring adherence to standard work and quality processes. MTY - Participate in cross-functional technical reviews to ensure alignment of technical specifications and customer requirements. MTY - Participates in design review with sales and solution development for a project quotation. MTY - Reviews solutions development quotes for technical and costing accuracy. Implements effective engineering methods and provides technical guidance and acts as a resource for engineers. Workload balancing and forecasts. Working cross-functionally with other disciplines (all Project Execution disc). Skills gap assessment - looking across multiple projects (could also be Director) - looking across a program. Responsible for approving project schedules and holding teams accountable, reviewing, reject & offer solutions. Working with internal partners to proactively clear potential project delivery roadblocks. Issue resolution or conflict resolution. Ensuring the project is going through quality gates/process adherence. Maintain safety & compliance standards and communication. Provide resource support and prioritize resources with One Dematic in mind, not at the expense of other projects. Financial Accountability: Managing Team and Individual expenses. Awareness of the cost impact of direct vs indirect labor. Forecasting workload and managing indirect hours. Awareness of the relationship between Statements of Work and inputted forecasts (YLF). People Leadership: Responsible to ensure that engineers are technically trained to meet project requirements. Effectively recruit, onboard, and integrate new hires into the team. Talent development - coaching/mentoring. Train and/or align training for a rotational onboarding need at several skill levels and key functions. Supervisory responsibilities include monitoring the performance of your direct engineering team. These responsibilities include making decisions on staffing needs; disciplinary actions; development and evaluation of work objectives and their effectiveness; and realigning projects and associate assignments as necessary. Provide effective coaching and technical guidance, and communicate as necessary with all levels of management, customers, and subcontractors on the program team Strategic and Tactical Initiatives/Projects: - Track status, steering committee, report out status. Additional Job Description Required: Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls). Advanced degree a plus Knowledge and Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of successful experience in a directly related field. Demonstrated leadership capabilities in current role. Advocates and recommends changes in processes and/or procedures to improve processes, projects, and teams. Anticipates trends, and problems and enthusiastically searches for resolutions. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Skills: Excellent leadership, teamwork, influencing, mentoring, coaching, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, organization, and time management skills. Effective communication skills include demonstrated stand-up presentation skills, group facilitation, and effectively interacting with customers. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively in a team-based organization and with employees of all levels and backgrounds across all functions. PC skills with demonstrated knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Ability to work individually and under minimal supervision to include a mixture of remote and office environments leading a distributed workforce. Travel up to 50% to the customer site, other Dematic offices, or identified locations for meetings, training, and business needs.
