Resident Engineer

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer with a strong background in dam construction to join their team in Pretoria . Key Responsibilities: Oversee the construction and rehabilitation of dams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections, monitor progress, and identify potential risks or delays. Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed according to the project timeline and budget. Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the project team. Review and interpret engineering drawings, designs, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies. Prepare and submit progress reports, quality control documentation, and site records. Ensure adherence to environmental and water management regulations. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional registration with ECSA (or eligibility for registration). Minimum of 8 years experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on dam construction and rehabilitation . In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, geotechnical engineering, and hydrology. Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
