What We're Looking For: Proven experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people with complex needs. Familiarity with communication tools such as Makaton, PECS, or similar (desirable). A solid understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding guidelines. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent SEN-related qualification). As a PMLD Learning Support Assistant, You Will: Provide individualized support to students with PMLD, both one-on-one and in small groups, to help foster their independence and personal growth. Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, mobility, and hygiene, ensuring that students feel safe, comfortable, and dignified. Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, confidence, and progress. Collaborate with the SEN team to monitor and adapt teaching strategies to best support each student's learning journey. Utilize specialized equipment to ensure accessibility and enhance the students' learning experience.
