Reviews Officer - Housing - Ilford, Greater London Temporary Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour Job Summary:We are currently seeking an experienced Reviews Officer to support the Housing service based in Ilford, Greater London. Key Responsibilities: Conduct high-quality, timely reviews of homelessness decisions under the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Manage cases that go to section 204 appeal in the County Court and further appeals in higher courts. Reduce the need for temporary accommodation by ensuring effective and timely reviews and providing quality options and advice. Record key data on all types of reviews to support submissions to the Department for Communities and Local Government. Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with housing legislation and best practices. Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of housing advice and homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Experience working with vulnerable customers and providing effective support. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively. Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and achieving positive outcomes.
