Professional Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans and tender documentation Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis Oversee project financials from inception to final account Prepare cost estimates, valuations, and progress claims Perform contract administration and cost control throughout project lifecycle Liaise with contractors, clients, engineers, and architects Ensure compliance with construction laws, codes, and industry standards Produce detailed reports for stakeholders and make cost-saving recommendations Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) or equivalent qualification Professional Registration as a PrQS with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) – mandatory Valid registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) – advantageous Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in a similar role In-depth knowledge of JBCC, NEC, GCC and FIDIC contract suites Strong proficiency in QS software (e.g., WinQS, Candy, BuildSmart) Excellent understanding of SANS, NBR, and related local building legislation Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport Desired Competencies High attention to detail and numerical accuracy Excellent negotiation and communication skills Strong leadership and decision-making abilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ethical, deadline-driven and committed to quality Why Join?
