Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic commercial team, working on high-profile JCT Design & Build projects within the residential and PBSA sectors. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of our projects, from inception to final account, ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities * Manage all aspects of cost control, procurement, and commercial performance on assigned projects. * Prepare and present detailed cost plans, valuations, and financial reports. * Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management processes. * Administer the JCT D&B form of contract, including managing contract variations, claims, and final accounts. * Work closely with the design, site, and client teams to ensure commercial objectives are aligned and met. * Forecast project cash flow and monitor project performance against budget. * Identify commercial risks and opportunities, providing strategic input to maximise profit and reduce exposure. * Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team as required. Required Experience & Qualifications * Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with at least 3 years at a senior level. * Proven experience working with a main contractor on JCT Design & Build contracts. * Sector experience in residential and/or PBSA is essential. * Strong understanding of UK construction law, procurement routes, and cost control principles. * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline. * Professional membership (MRICS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
