Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Network Support Specialist – Cisco (CCNP) for a contract position with a client in Calgary, AB and is ideally looking for experience with Data at Rest Encryption Program and strong proficiency in Python Automation and MSSQL, as well as strong proficiency in Configuration & Release Management, and either already know how to navigate and configure Splunk, Microsoft Power BI, and Tableau dashboards Position : Network Support Specialist – Cisco (CCNP) Location: Calgary, AB Long-Term Contract Job Description: Configuring and troubleshooting Layer-2 network technologies Good understanding of vPC, RSTP, HSRPMaintain Experience handling SFP and QSFP fiber optic connections and cables Experience in configuring and replacing production switches Good understanding of Data Center functioning Must have reliable transportation and clean driving history Travel to nearby sites would be required. Ability to set up, configure and add all DC network hardware. Assist coworkers in the execution of established processes and escalations. Following proper manufactures procedures for ordering parts and returning defective parts. Manage (Service Now) ticket queue constantly throughout the day. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues. Gather information to determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms. Partners with other departments to provide technical assistance. Identify priorities and redirect problems to appropriate resources. Organize ideas and communicate appropriate messages. Stay current with system information, changes, and updates. Handling all designated workstation installations and updates Required CCNP certified 5 years of hands-on technical knowledge of Cisco technologies and software installation. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT support field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Working knowledge of Configuring and troubleshooting Layer-2 network technologies (vPC, RSTP, HSRP Maintain) Strong communication and customer service skills with users to interpret and address their needs in an efficient and professional manner. Ability to visualize and troubleshoot complex issues Highly developed analytical troubleshooting skills. Able to multi-task, work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment.
