About the role We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring RE Teacher to join the Humanities Department at the School in Shipley, starting this May. This part-time position (2 days per week - Tuesdays and Thursdays) is ideal for someone passionate about teaching Religious Education to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. You'll be expected to deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured lessons that stimulate ethical thinking, philosophical discussion, and a deep understanding of world religions. Position Description Location : Shipley Contract : Part-time role (Tuesday and Thursday) Pay rate : £150 - £251.71 (UPS Rates will be considered) Essential Requirements QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification Right to work in the UK Understanding of national curriculum and assessment frameworks Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Key Skills Subject expertise in Religious Education Clear communication and interpersonal skills Empathy and cultural sensitivity Collaborative mindset and team player Organised and reflective teaching approach Creative lesson planning Responsibilities Deliver RE lessons in line with the national curriculum Create lesson plans that challenge and engage students Promote open discussion, critical thinking, and respect for different beliefs Set, mark and assess classwork and homework Track and report on student progress Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment Liaise with the Humanities team on cross-curricular planning Contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives Prepare students for RE assessments and exams Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and report concerns appropriately What do we offer?
