Job Description
Our Client is a AI Robotics startup building next-gen intelligent machines that work safely and efficiently alongside humans — from factory floors to the field. Backed by leading investors and powered by deep tech innovation, they’re on a mission to redefine what’s possible with robotics. Now, the Client is looking for the first Head of HR — a strategic, hands-on leader ready to scale their people, processes, and culture from the ground up. This role is based in the Singapore office but the Client expects the job holder to do regular travel within the region for subsequent expansion. The Role - Head of HR As a member of the pioneering team, you’ll wear many hats — strategic partner, culture champion, recruiter, and HR builder. You’ll work directly with the founders and technical leadership to attract world-class talent, define the values, and establish the systems and structure needed to scale a hybrid team of software engineers, AI researchers, roboticists, and operators, first in Singapore and subsequently overseas. Key Responsibilities Build the HR Function from Scratch: Create core HR processes and systems for a fast-growing robotics team, including onboarding, feedback, compensation, and compliance. Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment for cross-functional roles spanning robotics, software, AI/ML, and mechanical/electrical engineering. People & Culture Strategy: Define and nurture a mission-driven, collaborative, and inclusive culture tailored to the unique challenges of hardware/software integration. Performance & Growth: Develop frameworks for career growth, learning & development, and performance reviews across technical and operational roles. People Operations: Set up scalable HR tools and policies that support both in-person and distributed team members (including labs and field ops). Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety standards (particularly in labs/test environments), and international hiring practices. Employee Experience & Retention: Build engagement strategies that promote retention, satisfaction, and high performance as we scale. What You Bring At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a startup or high-growth tech company or high tech manufacturing company (experience in robotics or deep tech is a major plus but not a must). Proven track record of building HR functions or scaling people operations from early stage through growth. Strong understanding of the challenges in recruiting and managing hybrid teams (software hardware). Ability to navigate ambiguity, wear multiple hats, and move quickly in a startup environment. Passion for building inclusive teams and fostering a people-first culture in a technical organization. Hands-on experience with HR tools ( HRIS, engagement tools etc) and best practices would be a good strength. Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills. Why Join?
