Job Description

Purpose of the job: The Junior Project Contract Manager (PrCM) is a key member of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and core team. He/she provides guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies aligned with Alstom’s business objectives, including extensions of time (EoTs), variation orders, and contract amendments. He/she ensures proper record keeping and file preparation to support comprehensive claim files. Key accountabilities: Ensure application of Contract, Claims and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance. Prepare and communicate Contract Summary, ensuring it is regularly updated. Analyze contracts to develop and implement Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plans. Oversee the elaboration of the Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) by project team members, ensuring timely launch, communication, and updates. Monitor project progress to meet contractual obligations and milestones. Issue contractual notices to customers/partners promptly. Establish and implement project-specific commercial procedures for correspondence, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders, and claims files. Maintain reliable filing and easy access to correspondence from and to customers/partners. Analyze incoming and outgoing correspondence to manage and monitor contractual communications. Develop project-specific processes and workflows for contract and claim management. Formulate pragmatic commercial approaches based on contractual analysis to protect Alstom’s interests. Monitor, record, and notify customer/partners regarding claims/counterclaims, and manage documentation for negotiations. Oversee customer/partner requests for variations, change orders, and extensions of time, ensuring follow-up and transactional closure, including updates and contractual correspondence. Provide expert advice on issues, risks, and contractual/claims activities considering contract and business objectives. Report on contract management and claims activities to project, legal, and contract management teams. Train key stakeholders on contract/claim management, including project management, finance, engineering, and sourcing teams. Anticipate risks and events related to contract activities; propose counter-strategies and solutions. Collaborate with project leadership to identify and mitigate risks and leverage claim opportunities. Provide reliable contractual and commercial analysis upon management request. Willingness to travel up to 20-30% as needed.
