Your Role: As a Safety Assurance Manager, you will manage, perform, and ensure activities related to safety assurance in projects. Specifically, you will manage, perform, and ensure safety activities related to ETCS trackside and IXL projects within the RC Mainline Wayside team. Location: This position is open in Bologna, Rome, and Bari. Your Challenges: Coordinate all Safety Assurance activities within your project scope according to the Safety process outlined in the Signaling Safety Instruction. Perform safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review Design, RAM, Cyber, V&V, T&C activities from a safety perspective. Define safety plans and manage safety workload and scheduling. Develop Safety Reports and Safety Cases. Apply safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification, and validation) as defined for the project. Participate in periodic Safety Reviews and Gate Reviews. Present Safety Case arguments to internal (QS, Safety Assessors) and external (ISA) assessors; follow up on action plans to address findings. Coordinate Safety Assurance Engineers and external suppliers involved in ETCS or IXL projects. Support the review of safety issues, root cause analysis, mitigation measures, and share lessons learned to prevent recurrence. Qualifications: Engineering degree, preferably in Electronic Engineering or similar. Proficiency in Italian and English (speaking, reading, writing) for technical documentation. Knowledge of Cenelec Standards for Safety (or equivalent standards like AREMA, IEEE) and safety methodologies. Experience in RAMS / Functional Safety Assurance is an asset. Understanding of the full engineering cycle and related interactions. Experience in evaluating and monitoring safety activity workloads and schedules. Structured, organized, proactive, with a sense of anticipation and urgency. Ability to conduct analyses, design reviews, and evaluations using sound engineering principles, adhering to standards and procedures. Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and deliberate in research and analysis. Strong work ethic, task-focused, willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
