Commodity Buyer

Mission Overview As a Commodity Buyer you will take ownership of purchasing strategies across your supplier portfolio. You'll identify market opportunities ( economic, technological, geographical), manage supplier relationships, and drive cost optimization. You’ll also lead sourcing activities in alignment with plant and project goals—all while ensuring ethical standards and compliance are upheld. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Market Insight Define and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities. Perform market analysis through benchmarking, trend monitoring, innovation scouting, and professional events. Spot opportunities to boost value creation and competitiveness. Supplier Relationship Management Lead the sourcing process from needs identification to supplier selection. Collaborate with global commodity teams to align strategies. Manage supplier performance in line with internal policies and KPIs. Negotiation & Contract Execution Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Ensure smooth “order to pay” operations—creating POs, validating authorizations, and ensuring timely payments. Performance & Risk Management Drive productivity, cost reduction, and technical savings initiatives. Monitor and report on key metrics: cost, quality, delivery. Mitigate risks linked to supplier stability, mergers & acquisitions, and dependencies. ️ Crisis Management & Continuous Improvement Lead supplier issue resolution and support internal teams in problem-solving. Initiate and support cross-functional working groups focused on savings or operational excellence. ⚖️ Compliance & Ethics Ensure full adherence to environmental, legal, and ethical standards. Uphold company deontology and procurement best practices.
