Purpose of the Job: As part of Brits technology team, you will participate in the innovation and delivery of technology and software solutions that support Brits business objectives. As a senior software engineer, you will be working with product owners, scrum masters and very driven Agile teams to identify and improve tools, systems and platforms that enhance Brits ability to create solutions and services for our customers. This role will translate business needs and functional designs into functioning software or technology designs and deliver/develop common foundation architecture components that conform to known successful patterns, and that support evolution toward the future-state architecture. You will be part of the engineering team that will participate in professional and comprehensive support and build, with the flexibility to build or maintain the specified solution or initiative dependent upon the departmental requirements. Principal Accountabilities: Be a trusted authority and specialist - You will be someone that members and managers of other teams turn to for advice and guidance. Working as part of an agile development team, to write clean, functional code on the front- and back-end Building new services and establishing and developing common approaches, contributing to technical strategy, helping to deliver consistently and iterate quickly You'll take ownership and make the tech decisions Understand how to balance speed, quality and functionality and can easily communicate where the trade-offs are being made. Collaborate with internal teams to improve products Working closely with our QA Team on implementing their testing strategy, fixing bugs or other coding issues Investigate and share new technology from within and outside of the organization Work with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution Work within a Scrum environment to plan and deliver incremental software in defined sprints Providing input into future technology development Working with a team of already organized and highly motivated software engineers, plan and align the incoming product requests, user requests and other organization priorities Working with your peers to improve our tools, technologies, guidance and standards Regulatory Conduct Rules Act with integrity. Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Technical - sound commercial experience in the following : C#, .Net Core, Web API, , Entity Framework Previous experience working on Low code solutions and integrating it into the tech stack is desirable, however this is not a must have skill. Azure PaaS services (App Services, Function Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Storage, Key Vaults, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure AD). Experience of Webservices, Web API, Swagger, Postman & Microsoft APIM Experience in UI development and familiarity with popular UI frameworks like React.js, Angular is a strong Experienced in an Agile delivery environment Experience of working within a microservices architecture Analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail Track record Test Driven Development using testing principles and practices Technical - Commercial experience in some of the following : React, JavaScript, Python, SQL / NoSQL, FastAPI Async, Message Bus Strong developer with demonstrated proficiency in at least one general purpose programming language Commercial experience in high-level technical architecture and design Deep knowledge of stack operation and technical design across the software stacks and processes Willingness to adapt to significant changes in either technology or environment Very strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Strong understanding of an entire application stack, both breadth and depth, and an exposure to micro services technologies, especially RESTful APIs and web services Experience with NoSQL and relational databases Familiarity with common stacks and libraries Excellent interpersonal skills with a key ability to work with an Agile team Excellent analytical and technical skills. Ability to think out of the box and deliver on the agreed solutions to business problems. Strong interest in latest technology trends.
