Job Description
Job Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end warehousing operations, including receipt of bulk bags, storage, de-bagging, and dispatch. Manage inventory control, warehouse layout, and space utilization across multiple facilities. Supervise the de-bagging process and ensure product is loaded into bulk tankers/trucks accurately, safely, and efficiently. Coordinate closely with shipping agents, transport providers, and internal logistics teams to manage schedules and turnaround times. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations within the port and warehouse operations. Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and control costs. Manage warehouse teams including supervisors, operators, and labour, ensuring strong leadership, training, and performance management. Liaise with Transnet and port authorities to maintain good operational standing and resolve logistical challenges. Support the Head of Operations in strategic planning, budgeting, and operational forecasting Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of operations/warehouse/logistics management experience, preferably in bulk materials, or industrial sectors. Strong understanding of port logistics, warehousing best practices, and material handling processes. Proven experience managing teams and third-party service providers. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Solid knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance regulations (preferably within Transnet/port environments). Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
