Freelance DevOps Engineer – Fintech Sector (Ghent, Belgium) About the Role We are seeking a talented Freelance DevOps Engineer to support a fast-growing fintech company in Ghent. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure to support innovative financial products and services. Contract Details Location: Ghent, Belgium (Remote/hybrid work options available) Contract Type: Freelance / Contractor Duration: 6 months with potential extension Rate: Competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on experience Start Date: Immediate Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable software delivery. Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with a focus on security and scalability. Collaborate with development and security teams to enforce best practices and compliance with financial regulations. Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Monitor systems and respond promptly to incidents to minimize downtime. Implement container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker. Provide technical expertise and recommendations on DevOps tooling and workflows. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, preferably in fintech or financial services. Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Skilled in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible). Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
