Founding Software Engineer – Backend, DevOps & AI

Overview On behalf of our client—a well-funded, stealth-mode AI startup—we are looking for a highly skilled and multiversed Founding Software Engineer. This is a rare opportunity to join as employee 1 and work directly with a hands-on founding team to architect and build an AI-powered platform from the ground up. You will be a key contributor in defining the product, shaping the technical foundation, and setting the engineering culture. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable and robust backend services Set up and manage cloud infrastructure, CI / CD pipelines, and deployment automation Own DevOps workflows including container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code Collaborate on integrating and deploying AI / LLM technologies and related services Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate alongside the founding team Contribute to architectural decisions and help establish best practices Requirements 5 years of experience in backend software engineering Strong command of one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, Node.js) Deep experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Proven knowledge of DevOps, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform Practical experience deploying or integrating AI / ML models or using AI APIs Proactive, autonomous, and comfortable in fast-moving startup environments Preferred Qualifications Experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases Familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or AI infrastructure Exposure to MLOps, data pipeline design, or real-time processing Background in impactful industries (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, energy) Prior experience as an early or founding team member in a startup What We Offer A ground-floor role in an ambitious AI venture with real product ownership The chance to shape both product and technical vision from day one A collaborative, zero-bureaucracy environment where execution matters Direct access to experienced founders and influence over technology choices Apply Now This position is managed by Magellano Partners.
