Job Description

What's the role? The purpose of the overall code work is to create the basis for potential innovation and differentiation. The Codes/Approval Manager is responsible for developing code and approval strategy and its implementation for the F&P Business area (firestop and support system). She/he should obtain memberships of selected code committees, engineering associations, and manufacturer associations to contribute Hilti’s expertise. When necessary, she/he should also work with external consultants to influence codes to higher standards, thereby benefiting Hilti’s business. What does the role involve? Develop and implement a code strategy in the MO in coordination/alignment with the HUB and BU. The strategy should cover approaches for Government Ministries, Design Institutes, and other groups involved in the approval, design, and specification process. Build high-level relationships and networks with selected code influencers and code officials at predetermined ministries and organizations. Develop relationships with key officials/influencers and foster a good relationship with HUB. Actively guide/assist Ministries in providing technical support to Government agencies/code committees by developing standards and specifications for the construction industry. Research competitors’ technical information actively. Provide useful, concise marketing and technical intelligence to Field Engineers. Work closely with HUB/HAG on product development, regulatory trends, and strategies in MO. Implement the strategic objectives as defined by MO and the respective BUs. Generate proactive solutions to safeguard Hilti’s business. Maintain close contact with key engineering firms and industry standards/regulatory bodies to stay current on product technical requirements, e.g., attending committee annual meetings. Develop code/approval training programs and ensure proper implementation. Support sales teams on key seminars. What you need is: University degree or above; postgraduate (PhD)/MBA preferred; majoring in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering is an advantage. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus. At least 3 years of experience working with relevant public authorities and ministries in the areas of national code and testing standards. Professional Civil/Engineering knowledge, skills, and experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Detailed-oriented with good organizational skills (patience for studying technical details). Understanding of the business model and needs to align code and approval activities accordingly. Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and establish courses of action to achieve goals. Effective teamwork skills to accomplish organizational goals. Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals. Ability to develop short-term wins and long-term targets. Ability to develop others’ knowledge and skills through timely feedback and guidance. Why should you apply?
