Purpose of the job: The Development Project Manager will oversee the development projects within the EPMO department under the supervision of the Products Portfolio Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsabilities : Project Feasibility, Initiation, and Execution Coordinate the feasibility evaluation of new opportunities in early stages of development to determine technical and financial viability. Create comprehensive project plans that include timelines, budget and resource requirements. Use project management tools to track progress and adjust plans as needed. Coordinate scientific and technical activities across various departments and with external subcontractors if needed to ensure seamless execution. Regularly monitor project progress and implement change management process if deviations occur. Team Leadership Assemble and lead cross-functional teams comprising experts in various fields such as formulation development, preclinical, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, pharmacovigilance, manufacturing, market access, etc. Ensure effective collaboration and communication among team members. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Address conflicts or issues promptly to maintain project momentum. Stakeholder Management & Communication Facilitate meetings to gather input and feedback. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with all project stakeholders. Regularly update the Portfolio Manager and other stakeholders on project status, including progress, risks and issues. Ensure project data related to timelines, budget and resources are generated timely for prioritization exercises at Steering Committed level if necessary. Budget management Develop detailed project budgets based on activity cost estimates. Closely monitor project budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget. Analyze variances and drive change management process if necessary. Implement cost-saving measures as needed. Risk Management Conduct thorough risk assessments with the project team to identify potential project risks, including technical, regulatory, marketing, and operational risks. Develop and implement mitigation strategies. Regularly update the risk register throughout the project lifecycle. Documentation & Reporting Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date and easily accessible. This includes project schedules, dashboards, meeting minutes and specific project documentation. Generate regular project reports for the Portfolio Manager. Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all project data and documentation. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Ensure all project activities comply with industry regulations and quality standards. Continuously seek opportunities to improve project management processes and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in pharmaceutical R&D. Apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry). Advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s, PhD) preferred. Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent communication skills, especially in cross-functional environments. Proficient in stakeholder management, building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries, and the ability to influence individuals without having direct authority over them. Hands-on, adaptable, and self-driven personality with a strategic mindset. Proficient with project management software and tools. Strong understanding of drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for effectively managing drug development projects. Proficiency in English is required. PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
