Physician (MD/DO) - Psychiatry in Memphis, TN

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Memphis, TN., is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide compassionate, high-quality mental health care to Veterans. This full-time, contract opportunity offers a meaningful and mission-driven practice environment focused on treating those who have served our country. Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday | Potential for on-call or weekend rotation Compensation: $160–$170 per hour, based on experience Core Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment for Veterans coping with conditions such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Develop and manage individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches. Provide medication management and, when appropriate, psychotherapy services. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team including psychologists, social workers, primary care clinicians, and other specialists. Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement efforts. Accurately document patient interactions in the VA’s electronic health record system. May be involved in telehealth and virtual care delivery, as needed. Minimum Qualifications: U.S. citizenship (required) Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited program Completion of a psychiatry residency accredited in the U.S. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory Valid DEA registration with Schedule II-V authority Preferred Experience: Prior experience working with Veterans or military populations Familiarity with conditions related to combat trauma, PTSD, and substance use disorders Understanding of VA systems and interdisciplinary care coordination This is a rewarding opportunity for a mission-minded psychiatrist to make a lasting impact in the lives of Veterans while enjoying a flexible schedule and competitive pay.
