Job Description

A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its team in Baltimore . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company known for quality, innovation, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update all plant safety and environmental programs (e.g., Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, PPE, Emergency Response). Facilitate Safety Committee meetings, including agendas, attendance, and compliance audits. Ensure timely and accurate safety inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting. Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire orientation and ongoing employee education. Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses. Keep all safety-related documentation current and compliant with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with HR and plant management to identify and mitigate workplace risks. Perform regular audits of the plant and distribution center. Oversee safety-related inspections (fire equipment, AEDs, hoists, ladders, etc.). Administer drug screenings and maintain labor law postings. Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role (manufacturing preferred). Familiarity with OSHA General Industry regulations. CPR/First Aid/AED certification required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in organizations with 500 employees preferred. Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus. Working Conditions: Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Moderate physical activity; standing/walking for extended periods. Frequent work in cold, wet environments (28-35°F). Collaborative, diverse team environment.
