Job Description
Project Manager/Project Engineer - Italy, Pescara - 6 Month Contract With more than 2,000 employees, over 300 million units produced annually, and a pipeline filled with innovative medicines, our client is one of the largest production units worldwide. They produce, package, and distribute sterile injectable medicines in a high-tech environment, with over 1 million injectable medicines produced, packaged, and distributed daily to 170 countries. We offer an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading company within their niche field. The role of Project Manager/Project Engineer involves working on a significant CapEx project in Italy, initially for 6 months, contributing to the successful delivery of a new state-of-the-art facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Independently meet key deliverables and milestones, leading work within a matrix team under the guidance of the Site Capital Plan Manager or Senior Project Managers. Collaborate closely with Senior Project Managers to develop and manage project schedules, forecast tasks, and implement controls to monitor adherence and address slippage with appropriate mitigation actions. Establish and manage routine team meetings to update plans, facilitate decision-making, solve problems, and address issues such as resource gaps and plan deviations. Provide timely and comprehensive project update reports to stakeholders and senior management. Partner with functions responsible for project progress, including Quality, EHS, Production, Regulatory, and External Vendors. Oversee the project budget, report to Site Capital Project Controls, and manage project risks by developing assessments and mitigation plans with the project team. Coordinate field activities such as equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and construction with contractors, suppliers, and internal SMEs. Handle administrative tasks like tracking actions/issues and generating meeting minutes. Desirable Experience: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes; understanding of Pharma regulatory environment is advantageous. Degree in Science or Engineering with extensive project management experience, including successful project delivery on schedule and within budget. Fluent in Italian. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate problems clearly and focus on achieving results. Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership, integrity, team orientation, flexibility, and creativity. Experience working remotely within a project team in a matrixed and virtual environment.
