Projects Director

Our client is one of the major general contractors in Europe with a turnover of over 1 billion euros. They are a leading player in turnkey projects, from design to construction, in the infrastructure and building sectors. The company offers solutions spanning financial planning, land evaluation, design, and construction within the industrial, logistics, and data center sectors. To boost the Data Center Business Unit, we are seeking an experienced Projects Director . This role reports to the Technical Director and is responsible for delivering entrusted projects from pre-design through construction, ensuring profitability in line with contractual agreements and company objectives. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader, maintaining customer relationships and managing a team of (Senior) Project Managers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES : Provides technical support to business development teams during prospecting activities. Meets with clients alongside the business development team to understand their needs and project specifics (site nature, users, investors, etc.). Proposes technical and cost-effective solutions tailored to client needs. Prepares and optimizes building designs and technical solutions. Estimates design costs and prepares preliminary schedules. Prepares necessary documents for feasibility studies, including bills of quantities and ME. Defines offers and manages finalization and briefings with the business development and design teams. Serves as the main contact for the customer and the company's representative throughout the project. Contract : Participates in contract approval with the business development team, coordinating with legal and finance departments. As contract director, approves all details and prepares technical and administrative documents (bonds, insurance certificates, etc.). Construction : Builds the project team, ensuring team members possess the necessary skills. Leads the project team, including design office, technical inspectors, subcontractors, and safety coordinators. Ensures project realization according to contractual agreements. Monitors work progress, manages customer relations, and schedule adjustments. Produces technical summaries of interventions across building trades. Cost and Construction Schedule Management : Conducts financial analysis to ensure profit margins align with objectives. Participates in contract committees and co-responsible for sale-purchase contracts, setting costs and sales prices. Team Management : In coordination with the Country Manager or Technical Director, manages all or part of the project team, including Project Assistants and (Senior) Project Managers. Qualifications : Master’s degree in civil engineering, urbanism, or similar. 5 to 10 years of experience in private construction markets (TKP or EPCM contracts).
