Senior Commodity Buyer

Nidec Conversion is looking for a COMMODITY SENIOR BUYER PCBA & SEMICONDUCTORS located in Milan. Role Summary The Commodity Senior Buyer - PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) & Semiconductors will report to the Global Procurement Director of Nidec Conversion. He/She will coordinate procurement and supply chain activities related to PCBA and semiconductor components, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials while maintaining high-quality standards. The Commodity Coordinator will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain process, manage inventory levels, and support new product development initiatives. Daily Tasks and Main Responsibilities Define and implement the global procurement strategy to achieve targets in cost reduction, on-time delivery (OTD), cash flow, and quality. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers. Implement cost reduction initiatives and track progress. Lead commodity reviews to report the business status to management. Analyze cost drivers and market trends to identify savings opportunities. Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions. Coordinate procurement for PCBA and semiconductor components, ensuring timely delivery for production schedules. Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure quality, delivery, and cost adherence. Collaborate with quality assurance to address quality issues and non-conformances. Support supplier quality audits and implement corrective actions. Work with engineering and product development teams during new product introductions. Provide input on component selection and availability during the design phase. Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. At least 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in electronics or semiconductor industry. Knowledge of PCBA and semiconductor components and their supply chain. Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
