Innovation Program Manager

We are looking for a Innovation Program Manager to be hired with a permanent contract within the Siemens Mobility Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI to lead the design, execution, and scaling of innovation initiatives across our organization within the Software Business Unit. The Innovation Centre for Optimization & AI at Siemens Mobility advances mobility technology through research and development in the fields of Optimization & AI, with a particular focus on the Train Planning Systems (TPS) business segment. Your Challenge As an Innovation Program Manager , your mission will be to lead strategic planning and project delivery. You'll also drive the adoption of new tools and practices to improve internal efficiency and embed innovation into our work processes. Your main activities will be: Identify, evaluate, and foster opportunities to integrate machine learning, optimization, and other advanced technologies into our product portfolio. Shape innovation initiatives that transform exploratory research and technical concepts into viable, scalable solutions through collaboration with stakeholders. Monitor emerging AI/Machine Learning trends, assess their relevance, and translate insights into actionable opportunities. Lead the end-to-end execution of high-impact, cross-functional innovation projects driven by AI. Promote AI-driven tooling and automation to enhance workflows, productivity, and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with the Product team to support agile development cycles in innovation contexts. Foster external collaborations with academia, research consortia, or technology partners to expand innovation efforts. Represent your team in discussions on innovation, emerging technologies, and AI strategy across the organization. To be a perfect fit for this role, you should have: A strong scientific background in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, physics, engineering, mathematics). Experience leading complex R&D or innovation projects, preferably in a product-oriented environment. Ability to bridge research and product, translating technical innovation into user-oriented outcomes. Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers, engineers, and external partners. Experience in product innovation, discovery, or early-stage technology validation. A passion for continuous growth. Respect and appreciation for diversity, and a willingness to co-create and share knowledge. Proficiency in English and Italian. Eligibility to work in Italy. Nice to haves: Experience in customer success, product adoption, or solution value communication. Familiarity with agile practices and experience as a Scrum Master or agile facilitator. Previous involvement with academia or research institutions.
