Job Summary We are looking for a Government Affairs Specialist to support our strategic engagement across public health, food safety, education , and sustainable agriculture , including collaboration with Chinese ministries and international organisations. This role is pivotal in shaping policy dialogue, regulatory positioning, and strategic partnerships in alignment with our global sustainability and innovation agenda. Responsibilities: 1.Engage with Government Stakeholders: Support the development and implementation of GR action plans targeting central and local health and commerce authorities. Build and maintain working relationships with key Chinese ministries (e.g., NHC, MOFCOM) to align policy priorities. 2.Drive International Collaboration: Serve as the liaison with UN agencies (e.g., WHO, FAO, UNESCO), coordinating joint initiatives and multilateral dialogues and bilateral/multilateral meetings. 3.Support Education Advocacy: Partner with UNESCO on global education frameworks and monitor SDG4 implementation. Track and analyse legislative trends in education. 4.Advance Future Agriculture Programs: Work with the FAO Future Agriculture Program team to promote the Agriculture Vision 2050 and related scenarios. Participate in global policy dialogues on sustainable agricultural development and technological innovation, and prepare impact assessment reports. 5.Foster Embassy Engagements: Manage relationships with Chinese embassies and consulates in Europe to support market intelligence and engagement (e.g. Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, etc) 6.Lead Policy Intelligence & Reporting: Track global and domestic regulatory changes and distil insights into actionable policy briefs and strategy papers. 7.Represent the Company: Attend government and industry events, providing informed representation and follow-up reporting. 8.Enable Internal Alignment: Collaborate cross-functionally (Legal, R&D, Public Affairs, Marketing) and provide training on government affairs topics. What We’re Looking For Degree in Biology, Medicine, Public Health , or a related discipline. 3–5 years in Chinese government roles or directly involved in health, trade, or education policy. 2–3 years of active engagement with UN agencies or multilateral institutions. Excellent written and spoken English and native Mandarin proficiency . Strong communication, diplomacy, stakeholder management, and policy analysis skills. Nice to Have Involvement in Belt & Road or WTO projects. Knowledge of international health regulations (e.g., IVD, IVDR). Authorship or co-authorship of policy papers on global public issues.
