VAT Accountant

Job Opportunity – Part Time VAT Specialist – Fully Remote One of my local Government clients are currently on the lookout for an Interim VAT Specialist to join their team. VAT Accountant Contract Length: 6 Months Pay Rate: DOE IR35: To be confirmed Days: Ideally X2-3 p/w Start Date: Mid July. Fully Remote You will be responsible for: Monthly VAT returns. Compliance testing. CIS. Reviewing VAT reports from the system and flagging inconsistencies/improvements. Act as the first point of contact for any VAT advice. Partial exemptions. Options to tax. VAT Project work, liaising with different services and advising on VAT associated with this. This is very much more of a strategical role and the council are after a VAT Accountant who can consult and deal with complex queries. Whilst being hands on will also be needed for the role there is a Finance Admin in position who can assist with more junior VAT tasks. Successful candidates will: Have previous experience working as a VAT Accountant performing the above tasks within a local authority setting. – Essential. Applicants do not necessarily need to be fully qualified accountants as the client is happy to consider candidates who are part qualified or qualified by experience.
